GR-MEGA finally in stock! Firmware 1.6 released, Superbooth 2026

GR-MEGA in stock

It took a while, but the black version of the GR-MEGA is finally in stock. The silver version is expected to follow around April 22nd-23rd. Due to the worldwide RAM / Flash chip shortage, prices have increased, but they will at least stay constant until the end of the year 2026. Expect update on this around that time.

GR-MEGA firmware 1.6

The biggest update so far, was released a few weeks ago. The reception has been positive. Summarizing: the biggest change is that layers now cooperate a lot more closely. Layers can be clocked to the same master clock, and you can still opt out, and have a free-running layers. You can also turn a knob and tweak all active layers. There were a few bug reports, mostly minor issues. Some of them were already fixed in 1.6.1: typically MIDI CC issues. We’re planning to do video’s for 1.6 to highlight the new sequencer features, how to get the best out of the macros, the wide variety of new button combos, copy-pasting, and so forth. Grab the new firmware from our GR-MEGA support page, or use LAN update.

Firmware 1.6.2 will have to wait until after…🥁.🥁.🥁…

Superbooth 2026

There’s just 4 weeks to go until Superbooth 26: the biggest synthesizer event in the world, held in Berlin, Germany. For the first time in 3 years, we’re showing off our entire product range there. We’re delighted to show you our stuff, so please join us at stand W206. We’re doing a headphone-only stand this year to allow you to dive a bit deeper into our machines without interruptions 🙂 Don’t worry, we have about 6 headphones.

The deadlines are not set in stone. They are only the best indication we have at this point. Also, all feature requests and bug reports are always welcome. On Discord feature requests are created and rated. You’re welcome to chime in to prioritize issues, or create new ones yourself.

Other stuff

We still get the occassional request for the ECR+. We’re now gauging public interest for another batch. The more people chime in, the more likely it is we’ll make one.
